About the Event
The first part of the two-part seminar will be taught by Alan Leung, Director of Social Services at Island ECC. Alan will be teaching the foundational truth on what serving is. By using real-life narratives of Christians serving different local demographic groups (including the homeless, asylum seeker and widow) to illustrate how it closely connects to our identity as a follower of Christ. Alan will also be facilitating small group time for participants to process how to put our faith into actions during the seminar.
Background of the speaker:
Worshipping at Island ECC since he first came to faith in 2011, Alan served in different ministries including Men's Ministry, Pure Desire Ministry and currently leading the team of Social Services at IECC with his social worker background. Through professional counseling and prayer ministry training, Alan finds joy in walking with people through life's journey and is a mental health advocate. Spiritual formation is at the heart of Alan's mission to build up others in discipleship, mentorship, and spirituality. He is currently studying for a Master in Global Leadership at Fuller Seminary.
