Volunteer Your Time

Time is a precious thing so we appreciate whatever you are able to give to Hope of the City. It can be a one-time commitment or something more regular. Current volunteering opportunities include:

July - August

  • Jul - Aug - Arts & Craft Teachers (Sham Shui Po, Mon-Fri afternoon or Sat morning)

  • Jul - Aug - Native English Speakers for Oral Class (Sham Shui Po, Mon-Fri afternoon or Sat morning)

  • Jul - Aug - Cantonese Speaking Drama Teacher (Sham Shui Po, Mon - Fri)


  • Aug 16 - Movie Outing for Low-Income Families (North Point, TBC)
  • Aug 16 - Crossroads Struggle for Survival (in English) (Tuen Mun, Sat, 9am - 5pm)


  • Sep 7 - Mid-Autumn Festival Home Visit (North Point, Sun, afternoon)
  • Sep 13 - Crossroads Struggle for Survival (in Chinese) (Tuen Mun, Sat, 9am - 5pm)

Ongoing Opportunities 

  • Chaperones to take youth to/from rugby practice (6 - 9pm, Wed, Kowloon) 

  • Cantonese speaking Tutoring (4 - 6:30pm, Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri, 380 Tai Nan Street, Sham Shui Po) - _resuming in Sep

  • Ongoing - Cantonese-speaking tutors for P.1- P.6 students ( 3:30 - 5:30pm, Tue-Fri, Yau Ma Tei,) - starting in Sep

  • Qualified counselors, psychologists, and psychiatrists (dependent on volunteers' schedule)

  • Certified occupational therapist (OT) / physiotherapist (PT) / speech therapist (ST) (dependent on volunteers' schedule)
