Reaching the "Hidden Households"
Door-to-door outreach (or door-to-door knocking) is one way that Hope of the City helps our partner organisations make face-to-face community contact. Many low-income families, new immigrants to Hong Kong and elderly are unaware of what social services may be available to them or even where to go for help. They are often termed "hidden households" because they have little contact with outsiders and yet are living in great need. Door-to-door knocking gives our partners the opportunity to reach out to these residents and offer them assistance.
